iQue BBQ, Competitive BBQ Cooking Team

Andy Husbands steps away from the stoves of Tremont 647, Sister Sorel and Rouge to participate in BBQ competitions under the team name; iQue BBQ, sponsored by Harpoon Brewery. Husbands’ team has been competing since 1998, and has received the 2002 and 2003 Yahoo Cup for “Team of the Year,” awarded by the New England BBQ Society as well as and 2003, 2004, and 2005 NH State Champions, 2002 VT. State Champions, and 2004 New England Regional BBQ Champions. iQue BBQ has also traveled to Lynchburg, Tennessee to compete in the 2002 Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational BBQ contest where they took 10th place overall, and also managed to place competitively again in 2003 and 2004.

You can get a taste of this award winning BBQ at Husbands’ third restaurant, Rouge, located aat 480 Columbus Ave in Boston’s South End. Rouge offers a menu of Andy Husbands’ Award Winning BBQ and Casual American Cuisine. Husbands even had a “Backwoods Smoker” installed in the kitchen so he could emulate his passion for smoking and grilling on-premise. Rouge also offers “all you can eat BBQ” every Monday night.

In addition, Andy Husbands and his iQue BBQ teammate, Chris Heart, teach a class at the Boston Center for Adult Education on the art of smoking and grilling, called “Secrets of the “Slow and Low” Barbecue”.
